A large number of young families attend the Church of the Palouse because we provide an excellent religious education program. Our children explore Unitarian Universalist, Christian and Jewish teachings and lessons from all the major world religions. Children learn about social ethics and values, and their own personal spirituality.
All our classes, from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade, are appropriate for the developmental level of our students. We care about every one of our children. We want them to be so thrilled with what they are learning and who they are with that they look forward all week to coming to church!
Children attend the first portion of each service. They then are invited to their religious exploration classes in our "Yellow House" next to the church.
We have a cheerful nursery and two experienced nursery attendants for very young children. (Very young children are also welcome to stay in the sanctuary during the remainder of the service.) The Nursery is located in the Yellow House and is for children from birth to age 5. The focus is on having fun and learning to play with others. The Nursery is open from 9:45-11:30 on Sunday mornings.
